Day 1 – St Bees (again!) to Ennerdale Bridge

Fabulous day !!! It has been a long 15 mile walk today that started from St Bees .  I decided last night to walk the whole of today’s walk , despite completing 6 miles of it yesterday , because of a few reasons .  Firstly, if I started at Sandwith as I thought I might , I would have got to a Ennerdale quite early  and I couldn’t check in until 4 . Only 48 hours to go ! Nearly all ready … Boots walked in, maps studied, lightweight, quick drying moisture wicking clothing all packed, gaiters, blister packs, hiking socks, compass… Not the usual packing list for a holiday … So excited !! Ok , Mr Wainwright – wherever you may be looking down on me with your pipe, let’s do this thing !
